Aoshima japan or simply called cat island is one of the cats island in japan, cats outnumber humans six to one, the population  of the cats ranges from 100 to 120 cats. the feline were brought in to rid  of mice infestation and habitation, but their number soon got out of control. they survived mainly by eating rice balls, potatoes.

Efforts are be made to reduce their population, as the numbers of people decline.

65 year old fisherman Hidenoir Kamimoto told  ABC reporter '' if people coming  to the island find the cats healing, then i think its a good thing, just hope its done in a way that doesn't become a burden on the people who live here
